Controls and Special Functions in VCM Scanner

The Controls and Special Functions window allows you to perform specific tasks in real time by instructing the vehicle’s controllers. The functions available in this window depend on the vehicle’s manufacturer, the controllers installed, and the operating system version of those controllers.

Accessing Controls and Special Functions

To open the Controls and Special Functions window while connected to the vehicle, do one of the following:

• Click the Vehicle Control and Special Functions icon in the toolbar.
  
  
• OR select Vehicle > Controls & Special Functions from the menu bar.
  
  

  Caution:
  While this window provides access to various vehicle functions, use caution when executing any command. Performing certain functions at the wrong time may have unintended consequences and, in some cases, can damage the vehicle. Always ensure you understand the effects of the function you intend to perform before proceeding.
