THE GEAR/TIRE WIZARD
When tuning GM vehicles, the Gear/Tire Wizard can be used to calibrate the speedometer and scale the transmission tables to adjust for a new gear ratio or tire size.
1. | In the menu bar, select Edit > Gear/Tire Wizard. The Gear/Tire Wizard window appears. |
2. | In the column on the right, enter the new Tire Size in inches. If the size has not changed, enter the same value. |
NOTE: This value is the height of the tires. It must be entered in inches, even if metric units are selected.
3. | In the column on the right, enter the new Gear Ratio. If the ratio has not changed, enter the same value. |
4. | Normally, the wizard will automatically determine a Multiplier for scaling the transmission tables that maintains similar shift RPMs.If you would prefer to manually enter a different multiplier: |
a. | In the upper-right corner of the window, select Manual Scale. |
b. | Enter the new value in the Multiplier box. |
5. | Click the Adjust button. |
