Before starting, make sure your laptop or PC has access to the Internet.
1. | Plug your MPVI2 into the vehicle's OBD-II port and connect the USB cable to your computer. |
3. | Run the engine until the vehicle reaches normal operating temperature (ECT > ~65C or 150F). |
4. | Put the vehicle into Park (auto) or Neutral (manual). |
5. | Turn off all accessories including the A/C, heater, and fans. |
7. | Apply the parking brake. |
8. | Press the brake pedal. Keep the brake pedal depressed during the entire procedure. |
9. | Start the vehicle and let it idle. |
10. | In VCM Scanner, click Begin. |
11. | Gradually rev the vehicle to fuel cutoff (around 4000-5000 RPM's) over a period of about 4 seconds. When fuel cuts out, immediately release the throttle. |
12. | Allow the engine to come back to an idle. |
13. | Turn the ignition off for at least 15 seconds. This step is required for the VCM to store the newly learned configuration. |
